Education in Singapore is divided into 4 phases

Primary Education

In Singapore, a student must complete 6 years of elementary school. They must then appear for Primary School Leaving Examination.

Junior Colleges

Students can apply for admission to a junior college for a 2-year pre-university programme or a centralised institute for a 3-year pre-university course after passing the GCE "O" Level.

Secondary Education

In Singapore, a student must complete 6 years of elementary school. They must then appear for Primary School Leaving Examination.

University

Visa Requirements

Process

Step 1 - Confirm that your respective university is a part of the SOLAR system

Step 2 - Obtain an acceptance letter. Your basic information will be registered with the SOLAR system by your university.

Step 3 -   To access your SOLAR student pass account, your university will additionally provide you with a reference number. You can log in to the immigration website through this.

Step 4 -  Log in and send the completed Forms V36 and F-16. You must provide the necessary information and submit the required paperwork.

Step 5 - Pay the application fee - 60 SGD

Step 6 - At the visa center, you will be required to provide your "biometric information" as part of your visa application.

Step 7 - According to university policy, you must attend a visa interview.

Step 8 - Wait for your visa. The visa application process takes up to 15-30 days.

Post-Study Work Visa

Long-term Visit Pass

Indian students who have acquired their educational credential or degree from a specified Institutes of Higher Learning may be granted a long-term visit pass (LTVP). Students must be aware that this is a non-renewable visit pass and that they will have to return to India if they are still looking for employment at the end of the year that would qualify them for a work permit.

Employment Pass

The majority of international students use this visa route. The sponsor of this post-study work visa in Singapore should be your employer. To qualify for this post-study work visa, the professional must hold a reputable degree and make a minimum of SD$4,500 per month

S-Pass

Mid-skilled non-resident professionals can apply for this work visa. The minimum income for this visa is around SD$ 2,500 per month, sponsored by the employer.

Permanent Residency

To apply for permanent residency, international students must do so through the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA). They must be in the integrated programme, have completed at least one national test, and have lived in Singapore for at least two years at the time of application.
